It’s 2035. The air in the streets feels easier to breathe, no one suffers for being who they are, and a deep respect for life in all its forms is finally unstoppably spreading.
It’s a future scenario in which trans people and their allies have managed to overcome fear. Or at least we have pushed it into a corner.
We will achieve this scenario thanks to the power of storytelling (among other things): through work in communication, culture, and narrative communities, we can transform the way we see the world… and with it, reality itself. That’s what this fanzine is about, the result of the second edition of Proyecto Hortensia.

Proyecto Hortensia is a collective that supports trans people. We are a narrative community: we focus on telling positive, empowering stories about trans realities in oder to help them reach wider audiences. We collaborate with activists, organizations, families, creators, and allies. We engage with them and help expand their communication and organizing strategies.
Since 2022, we have carried out numerous campaigns and initiatives. For 2026, we have two strategic priorities:
- Coordinating the submission of complaints and legal claims to ensure that laws recognizing trans rights in Spain are effectively implemented.
- Making visible stories of queer lives in rural areas and supporting communication efforts by various queer cultural projects in these contexts.
In addition, we continue to support trans and LGTBIQ organizations in their communication strategies, conduct research through an observatory of trans narratives on TikTok, and encourage a transition toward more queer-friendly digital spaces such as Mastodon.
